Cinderella

The remarkable Cinderella Building on Cherokee Street has an over-the-top terra cotta facade and a somewhat murky past. Sources suggest it opened in 1906 and a roller rink and, perhaps simultaneously, a movie theater. Someone bought the near-derelict structure in 2014 with plans for renovation but I don't see anything happening.

One of St. Louis' leading architectural preservationists, Chris Nafzinger, had a post about its beautiful details on his blog a ways back. Beauty and economic success are not always partners. Golden slippers are hard to come by in the inner city.
