Les feuilles qui croustillent sous les pas

Automne parc Centre Spirituel des Soeurs du Cénacle Versailles
One last post of this year's splendor at the Spiritual Center of the Sisters of the Cenacle park before we move on to... well autumn in the palace gardens!

Un dernier billet sur la splendeur de cet automne dans le parc du Centre Spirituel des Sœurs du Cénacle avant d'embrayer sur... euh... l'automne dans les jardins du château !

The Kouga Dam overflowing in all it's glory

This was my favorite photo from our visit to the Kouga Dam in the Gamtoos Valley to see it overflowing. I just slapped I with a bit of HDR to give it a bit of a more striking look. A dam like this overflowing is always a sight to behold.

A Load of Old Rubbish

Well it is actually - a load of old rubbish - the rubbish barges that take the waste away to landfills.

The Monsters Of Denver

Denver 2015-10-31 1

Contemporary sculpture can be a challenge.  Above, the Big Blue Bear, a 40 foot / 12 meter sculpture standing on the sidewalk, peering into the convention center. A Denver web site describes the work as injecting "a welcome sense of fun and playfulness" into a serious building. I don't think so. If I were inside and saw that nose and these paws pressed on the window I'd run for it.

Below, a piece in the Denver Art Museum literally called Made In China by Siu Jianguo. A whole lot of stuff we buy in this country is made in China, including the Macbook I'm writing this on. Are we inviting Godzilla into our homes?

"Isola Nova"

Isola Nova Philippe Calandre Espace Richaud Versailles
Philippe Calandre's utopic Venice photographic exhibition entitled 'Isola Nova' is visible at Espace Richaud in the former royal hospital until 8 November and VDP went last Saturday. Adding industrial buildings to the gorgeous landmarks is a very surprising and interesting take on Venice, don't you think? VDP liked the shadow of a window so included it in the first shot. All the info on the exhibition is this way, albeit in français!
