Burning a candle during load shedding
As much as people are complaining about load shedding, we aren't allowing it to get us down. It does mean that we aren't always getting to do everything that we need to and one of those that's been neglected because of it has been my blogging. I can't only blame Eishkom though. It doesn't help that my laptop at home has a busted battery otherwise I could have spent a whole two hours at a time editing photos while everything else is out in the evenings. Anyhow, I though I'll post a quick picture and heaven behold, the only picture that I have uploaded was this candle. Need to upload a few more tonight and hoping that the lights will stay on. Enjoy the candle in the meantime *wink*

Let's peek in and see what's behind that enticing sign that warns "Caution, abandoned and shut up building."
Lots of buildings in the older neighborhoods of Tel Aviv are now roofless and have their windows blocked up.
Ah, but the mural artist Dede (whose two-headed animals we saw in last week's post)
has given life to the crumbling wall!
The walls have ears (as the old saying goes), but now they have eyes too.

Pride
Happy Americans at London Pride celebrate the recent legalisation of gay marriage in the US. A big red bus full of Americans representing the US Embassy here in London took part in the days celebrations.

Creepy Or Enigmatic
A few more shots from The Fringe. The Creepy Basement Players, above, are a brilliant local improv group. They were kind enough to let me photograph them after last year's Fringe performance.
Below, a scene from The Mind Shaft, one of three short plays called Existentially Speaking written by local author Patricia Duffin (who, I just found out when I looked at her Facebook page, works for an old friend of mine). Two workers descend on an elevator deep into the earth, not quite sure what they are looking for or why they are looking for it.
Bottom, one of the several sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle you can find around STL.
I spent hours shooting at the Pride Parade yesterday. If all goes according to plan, I'll spend most of Friday on the island where I was born. Overwhelming amounts of material.
Violent storms around the area as I write this Sunday night. Tornado warnings come and go. There are reports of hail with 1 inch/25 mm or more diameter just to the north of my home. So hi from summer in the Midwest.
